Trade Turnover between Russia and China in the I Quarter Increased to $ 25.35 Billion

OREANDA-NEWS. According to the results of January-March of this year, the trade turnover between Russia and China grew by 3.4%, to $ 25.35 billion. This is stated in a report published on Tuesday by the PRC Main Customs Directorate.
As follows from the document, China's exports to Russia decreased by 14.6%, to $ 9.151 billion. Imports of Russian goods to China grew by 17.3%, to $ 16.202 billion. In March alone, the volume of trade between the two countries reached $ 8.091 billion. At the same time, China’s exports to Russia amounted to $ 3.119 billion, and imports of Russian goods to China amounted to $ 4.971 billion.
According to the results of 2016, the trade turnover between the Russian Federation and the PRC increased by 2.2% year-on-year and reached $ 69.52 billion. In 2017, this figure increased by 20.8%, to $ 84.07 billion, in 2018 - by 27.1%, exceeding $ 107 billion, and in 2019 - by 3.4%, to $ 110.75 billion.
In the first three months of this year, trade between China and the United States decreased by 20.1% in annual terms, to $ 95.74 billion.
In general, the volume of China's foreign trade in the I quarter of 2020 decreased by 8.4% in annual terms, to $ 943.22 billion. The volume of exports decreased by 13.3%, to $ 478.21 billion. Import amounted to $ 465.01 billion. which is 2.9% less compared to the same period last year.
