OREANDA-NEWS  According to the results of last year, the American public debt was equal in volume to the total debt of the governments of the next 13 largest debtor countries and exceeded the Russian one by 107 times. This is reported by RIA Novosti, referring to the data of the national Finance Ministries.

By the end of 2022, the US national debt reached a record figure of $ 31.42 trillion, and the obligations of the next thirteen largest debtors became 23 billion less — $ 31.4 trillion. The second place was taken by Japan with a debt of $ 9.59 trillion, China with $ 3.75 trillion in third place. The debt of the British government reaches $ 3.03 trillion, the Italian authorities close the five anti-leaders with $ 2.88 trillion. This is followed by France, India, Germany, Spain, Canada, Brazil, South Korea, Singapore and Australia — together they account for $ 12.15 trillion.

At the same time, the Russian state debt amounted to $294.8 billion, which is 107 times less than the American one, 33 times less than the Japanese one, and 13 times less than the Chinese one.

The current level of the US debt ceiling was exceeded in January, when it reached $31.4 trillion. At the same time, the cost of servicing the American debt at the end of April 2023 amounted to $ 460.26 billion.
