OREANDA-NEWS According to the results of the first 11 months of 2023, the turnover of the Moscow Exchange exceeded 1.2 quadrillion rubles, which became a record value in the entire history of the site. This was stated by the chairman of the Board of the Moscow Stock Exchange, Yuri Denisov, in a comment to TASS.
According to him, last year the turnover by December was only one quadrillion rubles, and this year such an amount was achieved already in October. In December, the turnover will grow even more. The number of individuals with accounts on the Moscow Stock Exchange increased to 29.2 million from 28.5 million in November.
Earlier, the platform reported that the number of individual investors in exchange—traded money market mutual funds on the Moscow Exchange increased from 200 thousand to more than 300 thousand in two months. This dynamic is associated with a sharp increase in the Central Bank's key rate, from 7.5 percent in July to 15 percent in October.
At the end of November, a representative of the Moscow Stock Exchange noted that in the third quarter, 63 attempts to disperse prices for traded instruments were recorded at once, which indicates an increase in speculative sentiment. For the entire year 2022, only 13 such episodes were tracked.
