OREANDA-NEWS The majority of Russians (77%) will continue to increase their financial "safety cushion" in 2025, according to a study by Postbank (available to RIA Novosti).

Half of those surveyed who are thinking about saving are ready to save 5-10% of their average income every month. Another 24% said they would allocate 10-15% of their income for this purpose. 18% of Russians will leave from 30 to 50% of earnings for personal savings. And only 8% are ready to contribute more than 50% of monthly charges to the financial "safety cushion".
"According to the experts of the Postbank, this is due to the desire of Russians to focus on increasing their personal capital. Moreover, the current market conditions allow for high profitability," the study explains.
When asked about ways to save money, 11% of Russians said they were ready to take advantage of the long-term savings program. At the same time, a quarter of the respondents are still exploring the possibilities of this financial instrument. Savings accounts will be used by 44.5%, and deposits by 26%. 12% of the respondents will invest in stocks and bonds on the stock market, and 2% will start investing in the purchase of gold.
As for spending money from savings, it turned out that 73% of respondents plan to spend it on vacation, while 23% of them have money for travel set aside now. 43% of Russians plan to make repairs in 2025, 28% will send funds to pay for higher, secondary specialized or additional education.
When asked about buying a house or apartment in 2025, 17% of respondents answered in the affirmative. Another 2% will buy a cottage, and about 10% of Russians are saving money for a down payment on the purchase of real estate with a mortgage.
A quarter of Russians planned to purchase personal transport next year. At the same time, 23% said they wanted to buy a car, while 2% of the respondents chose unique modes of transport, such as a motorcycle, yacht or motorboat. At the same time, 75% of Russians do not plan to purchase vehicles.
