OREANDA-NEWS The United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) filed a lawsuit against the Finnish shipyard Arctech Helsinki Shipyard, the amount of the claim is more than 36.15 billion rubles, such data follows from the file of the Moscow Arbitration Court. The essence of the claims is unknown.
The Finnish shipyard was previously owned by USC, the corporation became the owner of 100% of the shares in 2014. Before that, half of the shares belonged to the South Korean holding company STX. In the same year, the Russian company came under Western sanctions, which caused problems with new orders for the shipyard. In 2019, USC sold the company to the beneficiaries of the Nevsky Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant in Shlisselburg, Vladimir Kasyanenko and Rishat Bagautdinov.
The shipyard is currently owned by the Canadian company Davie Shipbuilding. The deal was partially financed by the company's own funds. In addition, €77 million was allocated by the Government of Canada as part of the country's shipbuilding development program.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed an order authorizing JSC Best Solution to acquire Rostov-based companies Donskoy Anthracite and Obukhovskaya Mine Management. These coal assets used to belong to the Ukrainian billionaire Rinat Akhmetov. In June 2023, they transferred to SBK Premier after satisfying the relevant request of the FAS.
