OREANDA-NEWS The production of hybrid cars is one of the strategic priorities for the development of the Russian automotive industry, this area will be included in the new national project "Industrial support for transport mobility" and will receive state support, First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov told RIA Novosti.

"The development of hybrid transport production is being worked out in the outline of the tasks set by the Strategy for the Development of the Automotive Industry and the Concept for the development of production and use of electric motor transport," he said.

"Within the framework of the profile national project ("Industrial provision of transport mobility" - ed.), we will also work on the production of hybrids, and, of course, pay attention to it from the point of view of state support," Manturov added.

In the summer, the first production of hybrid cars was launched in Russia: Lipetsk Motrinvest put the Evolute i-Space hybrid on the assembly line. The possibility of producing hybrid cars was also considered by the domestic AvtoVAZ, as the company's top managers have repeatedly said.
