OREANDA-NEWS Every 12th Russian citizen surveyed (8.2%) said that he wants to buy an apartment in the next six months, 60.3% of them are ready to take out a mortgage, and every fourth (23%) plans to close it within five years. This is reported by the newspaper Izvestia with reference to the results of a study by specialists of Sberbank Insurance.
In two years after conducting a similar survey, the number of Russians who want to buy an apartment has decreased by almost 16 percentage points. At the same time, the amount planned to spend on housing doubled and reached 4 million rubles.
The maximum price is ready to pay in Moscow — an average of 7 million rubles, the lowest — in Astrakhan (1.8 million rubles).
97% of respondents most often want to take a mortgage in Krasnodar, 83% in Tyumen, 82% in Kazan, 79% in Ufa, 76% in Omsk, 71% in Naberezhnye Chelny and St. Petersburg. The respondents in Makhachkala are the least willing to get a mortgage — 35%.
Earlier, the State Duma of the Russian Federation called on banks to issue interest-free mortgages to "unwind" the Russian economy. As an example, Deputy Yevgeny Fedorov cited Denmark, where mortgages are issued, including at negative interest rates. Thus, local authorities encourage citizens of the Scandinavian country to purchase new housing more actively.
