OREANDA-NEWS The number of Russian residents who could live on their savings for several months to two years has increased from 37% to 45% in three years, according to a study by the field research laboratory of the Institute of Social Analysis and Forecasting of the RANEPA, which RIA Novosti has.
"According to a survey conducted three years apart, in April 2020 and April 2023, the number of people in Russia with savings that will allow them to live without permanent earnings from several months to two or more years is growing. In three years, their number has grown from 37% to 45%," the document says.
According to the survey, 22% could live at the same level only through savings for several months in 2020, and 25% in 2023. To live on available funds without reducing expenses for about a year - 9% and 12%, respectively. Two years or more - 6% in 2020 and 8% in 2023.
"Recently, many have criticized Rosstat for its administrative approach to calculating poverty in the country. But the results of the survey confirm his data: the general trend is being captured correctly – the poverty level in the country is decreasing. Let it be slow, but it is quite noticeable," said Dmitry Rogozin, head of the research, head of the field research laboratory.
9.5 thousand people from all over Russia participated in the study "Man, family, society", which was conducted by telephone survey.
