OREANDA-NEWS Over the past year, prices for basic auto parts in Russia have not changed on average. Tatyana Ovchinnikova, director of the international network of FIT SERVICE car services, told about this in an interview with the Prime agency.

We are talking about the so—called consumables - technical fluids and the most popular components for maintenance and minor repairs. The auto expert noted that the dynamics of the cost of such goods differed depending on the car brands. Thus, spare parts for Korean and Japanese brands fell in price by 5-10 percent against the background of a surplus in many positions on the domestic market, she said.

Consumables for European car brands became the most expensive — prices for them increased by 15-20 percent year-on-year in February. Among the main reasons, Ovchinnikova named the binding of prices for imported goods to the exchange rate, as well as increased transportation costs.

The expert also noted that owners of rare cars face difficulties with the purchase of spare parts imported through parallel imports. According to her, for such cars, the stock of spare parts is not formed at all, therefore, motorists may experience certain problems when servicing them. There may also be difficulties with details for Chinese brands that entered the domestic market in 2021-2022, Ovchinnikova added.

Earlier it became known that by the end of February 2024, stocks of Chinese passenger cars in Russia had decreased to 100 thousand units. This volume of cars of the top 16 brands from China will be enough for two to three months of implementation, experts noted. The cars in warehouses were ordered back in the fall, before demand decreased due to the increased key rate and the cost of financing.
