OREANDA-NEWS. JTI has invested more than $ 5 million in a digital cigarette labeling system at Donskoy Tabak plant in the Rostov region.  This was reported in the press service of the company.

 With the new marking system codes in Data Matrix format, it will be possible to trace the entire path of a pack of cigarettes: from production to sale in the store.  Providing online control over the completeness of the accrual and payment of excise taxes blocks the illegal production of cigarettes in Russia.  And it will also prevent the entry into the market of smuggling and counterfeit, the factory’s general director Valery Mitrofanov told the local media.

 The company did not name the dynamics of the production volumes of Don Tobacco in physical terms, adding that there is no direct correlation between the dynamics of market share and production volumes.
