The Federal State Statistics Service Named the Most Expensive Products Last Year.
OREANDA-NEWS At the end of last year, millet and cabbage became the most expensive products. RBC writes about this with reference to Rosstat data.
So, in 2018, the prices for millet and cabbage rose by 73.6 and 72.8 percent, respectively, which is 17 times higher than the inflation rate.
The increase in prices for millet is explained by the reduction in the area under millet, since millet is not very popular among the population.
In third place at higher prices - gas engine fuel (30.8 percent) due to a significant increase in the price situation on the oil market. Thus, increased demand for gas motor fuel (mainly gasoline) was formed due to its comparative cheapness.
Rising prices for sugar and eggs amounted to 28.3 and 25.9 percent, respectively.
Prices also rose rapidly for onions, validol, beetroot, chilled and frozen chickens, and carrots.
