The cost of car maintenance has increased dramatically in Russia

OREANDA-NEWS In Russia, the cost of car maintenance has increased sharply in the first half of 2024. Autonews writes about this with reference to data from analysts of the Fit Service car service network.
The average check for the repair and maintenance of the car amounted to 9.6 thousand rubles — 31.4 percent more than a year earlier. The most noticeable increase was shown by the cost of cars older than 15 years — by 35 percent, up to 9.5 thousand rubles. Cars aged from 10 to 14 years turned out to be the most expensive to maintain, their owners spent an average of 10.7 thousand rubles (an increase of 32 percent year-on-year).
Maintenance of cars aged 6 to 9 years by the end of January-June cost an average of 10.3 thousand rubles (plus 29 percent), from 4 to 5 years — 9.5 thousand rubles (plus 26 percent). The price of maintenance and repair of new cars (0-3 years) increased to 8.5 thousand rubles, by 28 percent year-on-year.
By the end of July, the average price of a new car in Russia decreased by 1 percent compared to June and dropped to 3.57 million rubles. In annual terms, the decline was more than 6 percent — in July 2023, the average cost of new cars in Russia was 3.8 million rubles.
