OREANDA-NEWS Russians must be registered in the state Unified Identification and Authentication System (ESIA) and have an electronic signature to open an account and conduct transactions in digital rubles. This is stated in the draft regulations of the Bank of Russia on the new currency, published on the regulator's website.

The document says that users of the digital ruble platform (individuals and individual entrepreneurs) will need to have a simple electronic signature key, which can be obtained by personal appearance at the MFC. Registration in the state "Unified Identification and Authentication System in the infrastructure that provides information and technological interaction of information systems used to provide state and municipal services in electronic form" is also mandatory.

ESIA provides Russians with the opportunity to receive public services in electronic form, including on the portal "Public Services". To obtain an account, you need to confirm your identity using passport data and an insurance number of an individual personal account (SNILS). Earlier, the State Duma adopted in the second and third readings the law on the digital ruble, creating the basis for its implementation and use. The document defines the procedure for opening, maintaining and closing a digital account. At the same time, the Central Bank is assigned the status of the operator of the digital ruble platform, as well as the tasks of organizing its functioning.
