OREANDA-NEWS On February 29, the Bank of Russia sold 10 billion yuan for 126.097 billion rubles as part of a currency swap, which became the largest such sale since the beginning of the year, according to the materials of the Central Bank.

Earlier, on February 28, the Bank of Russia sold 6.846 billion yuan for 87.195 billion rubles as part of a currency swap, which became the largest such sale since the beginning of the month.

Since January 19 last year, the Bank of Russia has launched swap sales of yuan for rubles with their subsequent purchase for a period of one day with calculations for the first part of the transaction on the date of its conclusion and for the second part on the next business day.

The daily maximum limit for this instrument is set at 10 billion yuan. But if necessary, the Bank of Russia can adjust it. Thus, a record amount of yuan under this instrument has been sold since its launch on December 29 - 13.751 billion for 173.562 billion rubles.

Swaps are held at organized auctions of the Moscow Stock Exchange in the mode of non-direct transactions on business days.
