OREANDA-NEWS In May 2024, the average size of a microloan in Russia exceeded 10 thousand rubles.
Experts analyzed the data of two thousand microfinance organizations that transmit information to the NBKI. According to the results of last month, the average size of a micro-loan (these include loans "before salary" in the amount of up to 30 thousand rubles) amounted to 10.06 thousand rubles. Compared to the previous month, the increase was 0.5 percent, but in annual terms this figure increased more significantly — by 9.9 percent (9.15 thousand rubles in May 2023). The largest amount of a microloan was noted in Moscow (12.14 thousand rubles), St. Petersburg (11.17 thousand rubles) and the Moscow Region (10.92 thousand rubles). The top five also included Krasnodar Territory (10.77 thousand) and Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug (10.49 thousand rubles).
By the end of 2023, the volume of microloans in Russia turned out to be a record and reached the level of 1 trillion rubles. The increase compared to the indicator of 2022 was 30 percent. Experts note that the increase in the volume of such loans could not be prevented by regulatory tightening — updating the basic standards for MFIs approved by the leadership of the Central Bank.
