OREANDA-NEWS In 2023, Telegram's revenue was $342 million. This is reported by the Financial Times (FT).

Operating expenses are estimated at $108 million, and the total loss is almost $173 million after taxes.

The publication recalled that Telegram is fully owned by founder Pavel Durov, who owns a multimillion-dollar cryptocurrency fortune. At the same time, the company has raised about $2.4 billion in debt financing. The maturity date is scheduled for 2026. Durov himself personally bought Telegram bonds worth at least $64 million.

Last year, Telegram managed to partially compensate for financial losses by increasing the value of digital assets that the company holds on its balance sheet. Their total cost in 2023 was estimated at almost $400 million.

Earlier it was reported that after Durov's detention, the Toncoin cryptocurrency, whose payments are made in Telegram, fell in price by more than 19 percent. Later, its rate dropped to $5.33 per unit.
