Russian Senator Named the Amount of Money for Which the US "Buys" Ukraine
OREANDA-NEWS. Senator Oleksiy Pushkov commented on the statement of the United States Secretary of State Anthony Blinken that Washington has allocated over $ 4.6 billion in financial aid to Ukraine since 2014.
According to a member of the Federation Council, most of the funds went to the supply of weapons. He stressed that the only goal of the United States was "to arm Ukraine against Russia."
Pushkov wrote in his Telegram channel: "Not a single citizen of the country has benefited from the American" aid ". Its goal is to encourage the anti-Russian orientation of Kiev. So the United States is buying Ukraine cheaply - and 4.6 billion in seven years is very little."
Blinken arrived in Kiev the day before straight from London, where the G7 ministerial meeting was taking place. He became the first representative of President Joe Biden's administration to visit Ukraine. Today, the Secretary of State will meet with Vladimir Zelensky, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal and, finally, his counterpart Dmitry Kuleba. Blinken will also talk with representatives of Ukrainian civil society.
In a statement from the State Department, released shortly before Blinken's trip, it is noted that the head of American diplomacy is traveling to Kiev in order to reaffirm the United States' unshakable support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.
