OREANDA-NEWS Most Russians explain to their children what money is and where it comes from. This is evidenced by the data of a survey conducted by Sberbank and the Rambler&Co media holding.

The majority of respondents (83 percent) give their children pocket money, while 17 percent do not. Most often (in 61 percent of cases), parents give pocket money without a schedule. 22 percent do it weekly, 9 percent do it daily, and 8 percent do it every month.

Almost a third (29 percent) of Russians give 500 rubles to children, one in four (26 percent) — more than 200 rubles, 17 percent give out 1.5 thousand rubles for pocket expenses, 5 percent — more than a thousand.

A recent study showed that in Russia, only 38 percent of men admitted that they are sometimes willing to make impulsive purchases, while 56 percent rated themselves as people who control their expenses. As for women, 46 percent of respondents stated a tendency to make rash purchases, and only 35 percent believe that they know how to manage finances.
