Russian Government Will Allocate Almost 10 Billion Rubles for the Development of Universities
OREANDA-NEWS The Russian government plans to allocate almost 10 billion rubles to support universities. This was stated at a meeting of the Cabinet Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev.
"Today we will allocate about 10 billion rubles to improve the competitiveness of our higher education institutions. As part of the national project "Education", 21 universities will receive money," Medvedev said.
According to him, state support should allow increasing the number of Russian universities in the global ranking of the TOP 500 best universities in the world.
"In addition, it should ensure the inflow of foreign students," the Prime Minister added.
Earlier, on the February, 4, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev approved the state program of socio-economic development of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. The document covers the whole range of tasks that need to be solved for the rise of the Peninsula, the head of government said at a meeting with his deputies. It includes a separate Federal target program implemented since 2015. "That is, it is not some new work, it is a continuation of the old, but there are accents," Medvedev said. "We need to achieve concrete results: we are talking about creating infrastructure, roads, providing the region with water, electricity, creating social infrastructure."
The budget provides the necessary funding for this: 150.5 billion rubles in 2019, 120.7 billion in 2020, 26.3 billion in 2021 and 12 billion in 2022. Total-almost 310 billion budget.
The main areas of work under the state program are transport and energy complexes, engineering infrastructure and water supply. 55 percent of funding is allocated for transport, 12 percent for the development of social infrastructure, and 10 percent will go to the energy sector.
