OREANDA-NEWS In June, the expenses of the Russian budget dropped to the lowest values for six months — 1.75 trillion rubles or 58 billion rubles a day. This is significantly less than the figures of the first months of the year, when spending could exceed 100 billion rubles, RIA Novosti reports.
At the same time, revenues, on the contrary, reached maximum values — 2.563 trillion rubles, which is higher than the previous record March (2.514 trillion). Such dynamics made it possible to reduce the budget deficit to 2.595 trillion rubles. Total expenses for the six months amounted to 14.976 trillion rubles, and revenues — 12.381 trillion rubles.
By the end of the year, the federal budget deficit is planned at the level of 2.925 trillion rubles. Earlier, the Ministry of Finance explained the significant dynamics of the beginning of the year by transferring advance expenses from December, as happened in previous periods.
The main problem with the revenue side of the budget remains oil and gas revenues, which continue to decline. According to the results of the first half of the year, they amounted to 3.38 trillion rubles, which is almost two times less than a year earlier. And in June, revenues dropped to 526.8 billion rubles.
Against this background, the government started talking about reducing budget expenditure items. According to Vedomosti, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov proposed to reduce by ten percent all unprotected articles in 2024, and redistribute the remaining funds.
