Russia will Allocate 2 Billion Rubles ($27.2 Million) to Fight COVID-19
OREANDA-NEWS. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed an order on the allocation of 2 billion rubles ($27.2 million) for measures to combat the spread of coronavirus and other infections. The funds will be used to create a laboratory complex and PCR centers. This is stated on the website of the government of the Russian Federation.
In addition, a complex of four laboratories for biochemical research and infectious diagnostics will be created. The budget is also designed to study the variability of pathogens of coronavirus and other new infections, to retrofit hygiene and epidemiology centers with equipment, to strengthen sanitary control at the border. About 223 million rubles will be spent on the creation of PCR centers in large cities.
Mikhail Mishustin called the measures necessary to create a reliable «sanitary shield». The source of funds will be the government's reserve fund. The money was allocated in accordance with the order of Russian President Vladimir Putin to take additional measures to combat the spread of dangerous infections.
