OREANDA-NEWS. The export from Russia of goods of hidden categories of customs statistics, including weapons, ammunition, military equipment, aircraft and natural gas, decreased by 13% in 2019. This is evidenced by the open statistics of the Federal Customs Service (FCS).
In 2018, the volume of secret exports in the widest possible scope (at the level of ten characters of the commodity nomenclature) amounted to $ 63.8 billion. In 2019, a comparable figure fell by $ 8.5 billion, to $ 55.3 billion. Secret exports in 2019 amounted to 13% of total exports of Russian goods ($ 422.8 billion).
The largest importers of Russian defense products, including a relatively small share of civil aviation and chemical compounds, according to the FCS, are Egypt ($ 2.4 billion in 2019), Algeria ($ 1.9 billion), China ($ 1.6 billion), India and the United States ($ 0.9 billion each). Egypt and Algeria practically didn't import secret chemical compounds.
In 2018, Algeria was the leader, importing military products from Russia for a maximum of $ 3.3 billion. Of these, about $ 0.9 billion came from the purchase of warships, according to the FCS.
