OREANDA-NEWS Russia's gold reserves reached a record $199.8 billion in September, according to data from the Central Bank.

So, in early autumn, Russia's investments in gold increased by 5.8 percent, thereby updating the record set in September at $ 188.8 billion.

The share of gold in Russian gold and foreign exchange reserves increased from 30.8 percent a month earlier to 31.5, which was a new maximum since December 1999: then the share of this precious metal was 32.1 percent.
The maximum share of gold was observed on January 1, 1993 - at the level of 56.9 percent, and the minimum — in June 2007: only 2.1 percent.

Last week, the Bank of Russia reported that the country's international reserves as of October 1 increased to $633.7 billion from $613.7 billion as of September 1.
