OREANDA-NEWS. Among Russian citizens, there are more than a hundred dollar billionaires, experts of the American magazine Forbes have estimated. Thus, the Russian Federation was on the fifth place in this indicator in the world.

The list, like last year, was headed by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. Elon Musk took the second place for the first time, rising from 31st place. The wealth of all 2.755 global billionaires was a record $13.08 trillion, 64% more than a year earlier.

The founder and CEO of the online retailer Amazon, Jeff Bezos, as last year, topped the ranking of the richest people on the planet according to Forbes. During the year, his fortune increased by $64 billion to $177 billion. On the second line of the rating is Elon Musk, who added $126.4 billion for the year. Last year, it was ranked only 31st. Tesla shares added 720% to the value over the year. In the third position, the owner of the fashion house LVMH, Bernard Arnault and his family, whose fortune is estimated by Forbes at $150 billion.

The next, 35th global ranking of dollar billionaires was published by the American Forbes on April 6. It has 2,755 billionaires — 660 more than in 2020.
