OREANDA-NEWS Mikhail Shmakov, head of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia, proposed to index wages in line with inflation more often than once a year, RIA Novosti reports.
Speaking at the roundtable "Sovereignty as an important basis of socio-economic development of Russia," in the Council of Federation Shmakov said that the laws determining the frequency of indexation were adopted back "in the pre-crisis period, in the prewar period," but now the conditions have changed.
According to him, the indexation of wages, as well as minimum wage, depending on the level of inflation should be carried out and analyzed more often than it is written in the laws of Russia. He also stressed that inflation is now reaching a lower level, but there is no guarantee that it will continue to remain at this level.
Earlier it was reported that a third of working Russians complained about the lack of indexation of wages. Also, the survey showed that half of respondents do not like their wages, while only a fifth of survey participants intend to ask for an increase.
