OREANDA-NEWS  By the end of 2022, the share of Russians satisfied with their salary increased to 50.6 percent, although in 2020 it was 44 percent. This is with reference to the data of a comprehensive monitoring of the living conditions of the population conducted by Rosstat among 60 thousand households across the country, Vedomosti writes.

Most often, the heads of organizations and authorities are satisfied with the salary (69.7 percent), followed by specialists of the highest qualification level (58.1 percent). The lowest rate among low—skilled employees is 32.4 percent.

It is also indicated that the income suits most of the employers themselves and members of artels (76.3 percent) and self-employed citizens (63.5 percent). But among employees employed by individuals and individual entrepreneurs, the share of those satisfied with income is on average 44.6 percent.

The average salary in the country in March 2023 is, according to Rosstat, 71,334 rubles. By the end of 2022, it was at the level of 64,191 rubles.

Igor Polyakov, a leading expert at the Center for Macroeconomic Analysis and Short-term Forecasting, suggested that the 2020 result was influenced by uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in these conditions people wanted to earn more to be ready for future problems. In 2022, the expert stated, the situation affected less.
