Rice has risen in price on a record in Japan

OREANDA-NEWS Rice prices increased by 63.6 percent in November compared to the same period in 2023. This is reported by TASS.
It is noted that this is a record growth rate since 1971, when the government began using the current form of statistics. The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries clarified that the increase in rice prices in October was 58.9 percent.
Earlier it turned out that the most expensive rice in the world is offered by Vietnamese exporters. According to data at the end of August 2024, a ton of unpolished rice (with 5 percent crushing) was sold for $ 575. They asked for $14 less for the Thai equivalent, and $34 less for the Pakistani one. But Vietnamese crushed rice (with 25 percent crushing) rose in price to $ 539 per ton.
