OREANDA-NEWS. BP CEO Bernard Looney, who will take over as CEO of the company in February, will not initially be on the Rosneft board of directors. This is reported by the American media with reference to five sources in the British company. As part of an agreement between Looney and current CEO Bob Dudley, the latter will continue to occupy one of BP's positions on Rosneft’s board of directors when he retires in March.
“Dudley will remain on the board of directors of Rosneft, since relations between BP and Moscow are very complicated”, a senior BP official told the agency. Another place on the board of directors of the Russian company will continue to be occupied by the former top BP manager Guillermo Quinto, associated with the Venezuelan oil company PDVSA, media sources added.
According to interlocutors of the agency, Rosneft was informed about the agreement between Looney and Dudley, but didn't explain how long it was designed. The Russian company did not respond to the media request.
