New York Stock Exchange Refused to Withdraw from Trading Shares of Chinese Companies
OREANDA-NEWS. Three Chinese telecommunication companies: China Telecom Corporation Limited, China Mobile Limited and China Unicom (Hong Kong) Limited, will continue to trade on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), despite an earlier delisting announcement.
The decision to abandon the withdrawal of securities of Chinese companies from the NYSE was explained by the continuation of consultations with regulators regarding the applicability to them of the decree of US President Donald Trump banning Americans from conducting any transactions with securities associated with Chinese military companies. The NYSE informed that China Telecom, China Mobile and China Unicom will continue to be traded until the issue is resolved.
On January 4, China Mobile fell by 5.89 %, China Telecom by 5.48 %, and China Unicom by 3.17 %.
