Moscow's Exports of High-Tech Products have Grown by Almost 15% in 7 Months

OREANDA-NEWS. The volume of exports of high-tech goods in Moscow for the first seven months of 2021 amounted to $ 15.9 billion, which is 14.3% more than the same period last year. The city's share in the all-Russian export volume in this direction exceeded 27%, the official portal of the mayor and the government of the capital reported on Thursday.
"Every fourth ruble of foreign sales of high-tech products of the country today falls on Moscow. And in terms of total exports, the capital of Russia entered the top 5 world leading megacities by the end of last year," said Natalia Sergunina, Vice Mayor of Moscow, quoted by the portal.
As the deputy mayor of the city for economic policy and property and land Relations Vladimir Efimov noted, in the structure of high-tech exports, one of the best growth indicators is demonstrated by the commodity category, which includes optics, measuring instruments and medical equipment - by the end of January-July 2021, the volume of deliveries amounted to $ 251.06 million, which is a third more than in the same period last year. Thus, exports of medical devices and devices increased by 22.7% and amounted to $19.64 million, and the volume of supplies of equipment for physical and chemical analysis increased by 65.7% to $20.66 million.
"Most often, foreign buyers purchased turbojet engines, tires for cars and trucks, make-up and skin care products during this period," said Alexey Fursin, head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development of Moscow, who is also quoted by the portal.
