OREANDA-NEWS The need to control the costs of individuals explained the fight against the shadow economy

In order to combat the shadow economy, the Ministry of Economic Development is preparing a proposal to impose control over the expenses of individuals. This was stated at the Taxes 2019 conference by the Deputy Director of the Investment Policy Department of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, Bella Panina.

“We propose to consider considering the possibility of introducing a cost control system,” she said (quoted by RIA Novosti).

Panina acknowledged that cost control is a “reverent topic,” which must be approached very carefully, and the idea itself is still raw. “But the first step in identifying shadow income is to control the balance between incomes and expenses,” she added.
