OREANDA-NEWS. American multinational financial services corporation Mastercard announced the appointment of a new CEO, Michael Miebach, who previously held a position of the Chief Product Officer. This was announced on February 25 in a statement posted on the official website of the company.

"As the company moves into this next phase of growth, we have a deep leadership bench – with Michael at the helm – to take us to the next level,” former Chief Executive Officer Ajay Banga commented on the corporation’s decision. He emphasized Meibach’s rich experience in managing large business projects, as well as his great contribution to the development of the company.

Meibach will occupy a new post from March 1, 2020. Banga will move to the position of Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors.
