As follows from the presentation, the state corporation plans to carry goods from Southeast Asia to Europe along the Northern Sea Route, intercepting part of the cargo from the southern route - from Asia to Europe through the Pacific and Indian Oceans, the Suez Canal, the Mediterranean Sea and the Strait of Gibraltar. It is noted that Rosatom expects to deliver 72 million tons of cargo per year, of which container - 43 million tons. According to the calculations of the state corporation, the use of the NSR will help to reduce the travel time by 10-32% from the largest Asian ports (Hong Kong, Shanghai, Yokohama, Busan, Tianjin) to the main European harbors (Rotterdam, Copenhagen, Le Havre, Southampton, Hamburg).
According to the publication, Rosatom’s capital investments in the organization of shipping will amount to $ 6.97 billion, of which $ 5.76 billion will be used to build modern cargo ships, the rest will be used to upgrade port infrastructure, repair the fleet and floating dock.
