OREANDA-NEWS Over the past two years, Ukraine has lost 30 percent of the national economy and lost 3.5 million jobs. The damage from the ongoing conflict with Russia was revealed by the Prime Minister of the republic Denis Shmygal, his words are quoted by the website of the Japanese NHK TV channel.
In addition, Ukraine has lost about 20 percent of its territory since the end of February 2022, the prime minister said. "We have lost 30 percent of our economy, about 20 percent of our territories and we have lost 3.5 million jobs," Shmygal complained.
The Prime Minister also said there was insufficient military assistance from key Western allies, including the European Union (EU) and the United States. However, the partners are doing everything possible to support Ukraine, taking into account limited production capacities. "Unfortunately, the production of ammunition worldwide is not large enough to deliver the necessary amount of ammunition to Ukraine," concluded Shmygal.
Earlier, World Bank analysts reported that over the past year, the cost of restoring Ukraine's economy has increased by $75 billion, to $ 486 billion. According to experts, this process can take up to ten years. At the same time, experts estimated the direct damage to the Ukrainian economy at 152 billion.
