OREANDA-NEWS More than a billion rubles were allocated for the reconstruction of the old building of the Chuvash Government House. The authorities of the Russian region plan to complete the work by the end of 2024, TASS reports with reference to the head of Chuvashia Oleg Nikolaev.

The building was built in 1940 and is an object of cultural heritage of federal significance. In 2011, the operation of the facility was discontinued, and in 2022, a large-scale reconstruction began. Initially, it was planned to complete the work ahead of schedule.

The allocated money will be used to strengthen the foundation, which was in disrepair. Significant funds were also required to restore structures destroyed during the ten years that the building was not used and was not heated.

In addition, various studies of the cultural monument were carried out. "The object was already modified in a certain way in the 1990s. At the same time, unfortunately, they departed from the security certificate, so we also carried out these works, restored them," Nikolaev explained.

Earlier, an American cockroach entered the State Duma building in Moscow.
