OREANDA-NEWS In October 2024, credit card issuance in Russia fell by 21.9 percent. This was reported by TASS with reference to the National Bureau of Credit Histories (NBKI).

According to him, in the second month of autumn, 1.58 million credit cards were issued in the Russian Federation, although in January it was about 2.03 million. The October figures were the lowest since the beginning of the year. Compared to September, the number of this type of bank cards fell by almost 16 percent.

Earlier it was reported that by the end of September, the total number of credit cards issued in Russia decreased by 16 percent compared to August, to 1.75 million units.

In early October, State Duma deputies adopted in the first reading a bill prohibiting banks from increasing the credit limit on bank cards without the consent of the borrower.
