OREANDA-NEWS In Russia, it is necessary to change the amount of the single allowance for children. It is necessary to provide a payment in the amount that will allow the family to get out of the poverty line.
The deputy noted that today almost ten million families receive benefits for children from birth to 17 years. At the same time, not all families get out of the poverty line, even receiving a payment.
"The future lies in providing benefits, especially for families with young children, when both parents cannot yet afford to work fully, not in the form of a living wage or, for example, a minimum wage, but in the amount necessary to achieve the indicator of getting out of poverty," she said.
Bessarab reported that in the autumn session she is going to request information from the government on the issue of the benefit efficiency indicator: how many families remain below the poverty line and what funds will be required to get out of it.
"These are very ambitious plans, taking into account the budget deficit, so I think it is unlikely that they will be implemented in the autumn session. But it's already worth thinking about it," the parliamentarian concluded.
Earlier, the State Duma proposed to introduce a four-day working week for parents with many children, whose children are all minors, and the youngest child has not reached the age of 14.
