OREANDA-NEWS In 2022, Russian bailiffs recovered over 1 trillion rubles, Russian Justice Minister Konstantin Chuichenko said at an expanded board of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation. In 2021, the figure was 888 billion rubles.
"Through the Federal Bailiff Service, I want to note the record amount recovered in 2022 — more than 1 trillion rubles. This is a very good result," the head of the Ministry of Justice summed up (quoted by TASS).
The Federal Bailiff Service (FSPP) transferred more than 412 billion rubles to the consolidated budget of the Russian Federation for 2022. (86 billion rubles more than in 2021).
"At the same time, I would like to draw attention to the frequent problem of the disproportion of the debt to be recovered to the volume of enforcement actions performed by bailiffs. Sometimes the measures taken are excessive," Mr. Chuichenko said.
As an example, the minister cited a situation when, with a debt of several thousand rubles, property is seized, the value of which is hundreds of times higher than the amount of the penalty. In this regard, Mr. Chuichenko suggests that the FSSP adjust the practice and, if necessary, work together with the Ministry of Justice on proposals to change the legislation.
According to the latest FSSP data, about 8 million Russians do not pay their debts. In 2022, the indicator almost doubled the value of 2021 and became a record for the last 15 years.
