Officially, the magazine called the rapper a billionaire after the musician agreed to disclose the documents of his business empire and bank statements. Forbes writes that last year West publicly resented the fact that the magazine refused to recognize him as a billionaire, and the lack of inclusion in the updated list of the richest people on the planet touched the rapper even more, after which he agreed to disclose his financial statements.

When calculating the condition of the musician, Forbes decided to take into account only 50% of the value of his assets, since most of them are illiquid. Excluding his stake in Yeezy, which publishes sneakers with Adidas, the magazine estimated West’s assets at $ 125 million, recalling the artist’s debts, which are approximately $ 100 million. “With all of the above, Forbes estimates Kanye West’s fortune at $ 1.3 billion", writes the publication.
