OREANDA-NEWS. Forbes magazine presented the annual ranking of 200 richest businessmen in Russia. The first place this year was taken by the president of the Interros holding, the largest shareholder of MMC Norilsk Nickel Vladimir Potanin. The magazine estimated its fortune at $ 19.7 billion. In the ranking of 2019, Potanin ranked sixth with a fortune of $ 18.1 billion.
The second place was retained by NLMK Chairman of the Board of Directors Vladimir Lisin. According to Forbes, his fortune for the year decreased from $ 21.3 billion to $ 18.1 billion. Last year’s leader of the rating, Novatek’s chairman Leonid Mikhelson was in third position with a fortune of $ 17.1 billion (a year earlier - $ 24 billion).
The fourth line was taken by the chairman of the board of directors of Severstal PJSC Alexey Mordashov with his family ($ 16.8 billion), and the fifth - by Vagit Alekperov, president of LUKOIL ($ 15.2 billion).
According to the magazine, the new ranking included 102 billionaires, and this is two more than last year. But in general, against the backdrop of turbulence in financial markets due to falling oil prices and the coronavirus pandemic, the combined wealth of Russia's 200 richest businessmen decreased by $ 40 billion, to $ 456 billion.
