This was announced on Thursday by a representative of the European Commission in Brussels, commenting on a July telephone conversation between the presidents of the United States and Ukraine, Donald Trump and Vladimir Zelensky, during which the American leader criticized the amount of EU assistance to Ukraine.

"Our support is based on strict conditions for the implementation of reforms. And we are very closely following these reforms", ​​he said. At the same time, the representative of the European Commission emphasized that the EU assistance package to Ukraine is unprecedented in volume. "It's important to say that EU support to Ukraine is unprecedented, it was the largest package in the history of the European Union", he added.

US President Donald Trump during a July telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart, Vladimir Zelensky, criticized European countries for providing, in his opinion, insufficient assistance to Ukraine. This follows from the transcript of the conversation published on Wednesday by the White House, which became the reason for the impeachment of the American leader by the House of Representatives of the US Congress.

Earlier it was reported that the EU considers the volume of assistance provided to Ukraine by the European side to be unprecedented, a spokeswoman for the EU foreign policy told the Russian media. “Over the past five years, we have put together the largest support package in the history of the European Union for Ukraine”, said Maya Kosyanchich, representative of the EU diplomatic service. This was a response to the claim made by US President Donald Trump.
