Elon Musk's Fortune Reaches $101 Billion

OREANDA-NEWS. The fortune of Elon Musk (pictured), the founder of Tesla and SpaceX, has grown 3.7 times since the beginning of the year and reached $101 billion. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Elon Musk has already earned over $73 billion this year and has become the fourth richest person in the world. All this happened thanks to a multiple increase in the value of Tesla shares, which have risen in price almost five times since January.
According to the rating compiled by the Bloomberg agency, at the beginning of this year, Musk was worth $27.4 billion. However, the rapid growth in the value of Tesla shares brought him another $73.6 billion. Now, according to Bloomberg, he is in the fourth line of the ranking of the richest people of the world, second only to Jeff Bezos (founder of Amazon), Bill Gates (founder of Microsoft) and Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook).
Forbes, however, puts Elon Musk on the fifth line in the ranking of the richest people in the world, estimating his fortune at $95.5 billion.
Tesla share was worth $430.26 in January. At the peak of the coronavirus crisis, in mid-March, the stock price dropped to $361 (a 16% drop since the beginning of the year). Compared to many other companies, Tesla's fall in capitalization was not so significant.
