OREANDA-NEWS   Credit holidays for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as well as the self-employed, may appear in Russia no earlier than mid-2025. This was stated to Izvestia in the press service of the Central Bank.

As explained by expert Natalia Milchakova from Freedom Finance Global, credit holidays for small businesses will appear no earlier than the middle of 2025, since the mechanism for introducing such a mechanism takes a long time.

The maximum loan amount for which it is planned to provide a grace period for microenterprises will be 60 million rubles, for small enterprises — 400 million, for medium—sized enterprises — 1 billion, and for the self-employed - 10 million, the Central Bank noted.

Earlier, the Central Bank of Russia prepared details of the mechanism of credit holidays for businesses. Mikhail Mamuta, head of the Consumer Protection and Financial Services Accessibility Service of the regulator, said that the Central Bank offers to provide credit holidays to companies for up to six months under each loan agreement, but only once for the entire term of its validity. Small and medium-sized businesses, as well as microenterprises, will be able to take advantage of the suspension of loan payments.
