OREANDA-NEWS. Unistream, Western Union and Contact payment systems connected to the National Processing Center launched in Tajikistan on Tuesday. Transfers through Contact will be available in the afternoon, and through Western Union within one to two days, the Russian media reported to the press service of the National Bank of Tajikistan.

"Contact, Unistream, Russian payment systems are working now, an agreement has been signed with Western Union, it will work within one or two days due to some technical issues", the regulator’s press service said. The Western Union call center confirmed to the Russian media that cross-border money transfers are temporarily unavailable in Tajikistan due to the technical setup at the central bank.

"In Tajikistan, the central bank of this country now has certain technical improvements, so they have now stopped all types of transfers around the world. This is a limitation due to additional technical settings", the employee of the call center said. Western Union added that there is no information when this technical setup can be completed yet.
