The wife of the Microsoft founder got shares of the Canadian National Railway Company for one and a half billion dollars and a share in the largest car dealer in the United States, Autonation, worth $300 million. This is stated in the reports for the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

Forbes estimates Bill Gate's net worth at $124 billion. The businessman owns part of the assets through the Cascade Investments fund, which transferred only a small share of the shares to Melinda. In total, the fund still has $50 billion worth of securities at it's disposal. It is noted, that the division of property has not yet ended.

Bill and Melinda Gates announced their divorce on Monday. In a published statement, they noted that in 27 years of marriage, they raised three children and created a worldwide charitable foundation. The couple married in Hawaii in 1994 — seven years after they met.
