Belarus will Start Paying for Gas in Russian Rubles

“Relevant documents were signed today in St. Petersburg by Minister of Energy Viktor Karankevich and Chairman of the Board of PJSC Gazprom Alexey Miller,” the press service of the Council of Ministers of the Republic specified.
As the press service added, "the price of supplied natural gas has become more profitable since April 1." We are talking about the benefit observed under the previous agreement.
“Taking into account the agreements reached, in the very near future, the government will make decisions to reduce the price burden on consumers,” the ministry added.
In 2021, the Ministry of Energy of Belarus announced the signing of a protocol between Gazprom and the Belarusian authorities, according to which the level of gas prices for the republic for 2022 was agreed at $128.52 per thousand cubic meters. m.
Earlier, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko confirmed his readiness to stop gas transit.
