OREANDA-NEWS.  BNY Mellon’s digital transformation efforts are earning recognition in the technology world. At the recent CIO 100 Symposium, hosted by CIO.com and Computerworld, the 232-year old financial services company took home two prestigious honors. The company’s new NEXEN digital ecosystem received a CIO 100 award, which recognizes innovative technology projects and BNY Mellon’s CIO and Executive Vice President Suresh Kumar was inducted into the CIO Hall of Fame.

The prestigious CIO Hall of Fame honor is awarded to a select group of outstanding IT executives and visionaries who have had a significant impact on the IT profession. “The CIOs who are invited to join our CIO Hall of Fame are always an inspiring, accomplished group of technology leaders,” says Maryfran Johnson, Editor in Chief of CIO Events. “The evaluation of each candidate by our alumni judges makes this peer-to-peer award deeply meaningful to CIOs, as it recognizes the business leadership they’ve shown throughout their careers.”

Kumar was recognized for his leadership in BNY Mellon’s largest transformation in history, as well as his career-long commitment to embracing and applying new and innovative technologies, from building the first on-line brokerage prior to the Internet to creating NEXEN, a digital platform whose scope and scale is industry leading for financial services.

"If there was anything consistent throughout my career, it was that I always thought of myself as an entrepreneur," says Kumar in CIO.com’s article profiling the seven 2016 Hall of Fame inductees.
