S&P Dow Jones Indices and RobecoSAM have announced the results of the annual Dow Jones Sustainability Indices review
OREANDA-NEWS. S&P Dow Jones Indices and investment specialist RobecoSAM have announced the results of the annual Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) review. RBS has maintained its listing in DJSI World and Europe scoring 84 out of 100 with the industry average at 61.
Launched in 1999, the DJSI World is the gold standard for corporate sustainability and the first global index to track the leading sustainability-driven companies based on financially relevant Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors and S&P Dow Jones Indices’ robust index methodology.
Each year, over 3,400 publicly traded companies are invited to participate in RobecoSAM’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). Of these, the largest 2,500 global companies by market capitalization are eligible for inclusion in the flagship DJSI World. The World index represents the top 10% of these 2,500 companies. Only three other UK banks were included.
Kirsty Britz, Director of Sustainability commented:
“We are becoming a more sustainable bank; a more responsible company, doing business in a sustainable way. To achieve our highest score and be benchmarked within the top 10% globally, is another step forward and shows commitment to economic, social and environmental progress. Continuing to live our values and providing simple and fair banking will help us to build trust for the long term.”
