Kazan to Host Forum of Innovative Financial Technologies
OREANDA-NEWS. Finopolis 2016 Forum held by the Bank of Russia and the government of the Republic of Tatarstan will take place on 13-14 October. This is the second time key players from financial market companies, ITs and regulators will come to Kazan to discuss the development of innovative technologies in the financial sector.
The first Finopolis 2016 plenary session will focus on prospects for financial market development till 2026. Bank of Russia Governor Elvira Nabiullina and Chairman of the Board of PJSC Moscow Exchange Alexander Afanasyev are expected to address the session which will be moderated by Chairman of the Board of PJSC Sberbank Herman Gref.
The second meeting to be moderated by the head of JSC Kaspersky Lab Eugene Kaspersky will look into crucial cyber security problems. Besides, within two days, 17 section meetings will consider issues of regulating innovative financial technologies and business models, as well as developing concrete technologies such as block chain, Big Data tools, artificial brain, Open API and many others.
Bank of Russia Deputy Governor Olga Skorobogatova, Chair of Finopolis 2016 Organising committee, specifies the importance of never-ending exchange of opinions between the market and regulators in order to develop financial market technologies. ‘The Bank of Russia pays special attention to the study and implementation of new technologies in the Russian financial market. We are in a continuous dialogue with market participants. Finopolis is a basic ground for generating consensus between the regulator and business community as regards transformation of financial industry under new technologies and for discussing concrete FinTech projects in the Russian market,’ she points out.
Within the Forum, FinTech startup contest is planned. It is a joint effort with Generation S federal accelerator. 18 startups which will qualify after the expert choice will submit their projects within forum special events.
