OREANDA-NEWS. Sergey Gorkov, Chairman of Vnesheconombank, participated in a meeting over development prospects for the Russian electronics industry. Chaired by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, the meeting took place in Zelenograd at the site of Angstrem-T new fab.

VEB is the major lender to the Angstrem-T submicron semiconductor components project. The Bank has been participating in the project since 2008. The total project value is EUR 897mn, with the Bank for Development’s commitment amounting to EUR 815mn. At the end of July 2016, Angstrem-T put into operation its manufacturing building, and the fab is ready to launch production. The productive capacity of the fab is 180 thousand wafers a year.

Angstrem-T produces submicron semiconductor devices by 90-130 nm technology suitable for upgrading. Aimed at developing innovations in the electronics industry, the project has a national significance.
